Division for
Church in Society
Domestic Disaster
Response
For more than 12 years and 160 responses to disasters, members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America have responded to those in need by helping survivors recover and rebuild. A ministry that is carried out by the Division for Church in Society, Domestic Disaster Response provides not only for survivors’ material needs, but emotional and spiritual ones as well. It serves throughout the United States and its territories and commonwealths, and works in conjunction with several other agencies.
The
Northwestern Ohio Synod LDR
Committee has been on the front lines of responding to disasters in our
area,
including the November 2002 tornadoes.
Synod administrator Kathleen
Lemmerbrock
serves as Office of the Bishop LDR liaison, and John Schwepe serves as
LDR
congregational liaison.
